It might be a brand new year, but the trend of hunks and babes selling food at unexpected locations continued. Following the trend of the approaching Chinese New Year, a photo of two hunks BBQ-ing and selling bak kwa in Johor went viral, and looking at their drool-worthy physique, we can see why. Don’t you think so?

Well, after the photo went viral, sharp-eyed netizens deduced that the two hunks are not “real” bak kwa sellers, because the net is bigger than the grill, and more importantly, there’s no fire or smoke.

Reactions from the net were mixed, with some leaving messages wanting to buy bak kwa from them, and one even decided to make fun of them by showing them what “real” bak kwa sellers look like.

In the end, the truth behind the photo came out. The two friends, Wong Quan Jing, 27, and his friend Fong Tian Li, 25, are personal trainers at a fitness centre took the photo as a favor for their friend who’s in the business of selling bak kwa for a publicity stunt.

They claimed that they were surprised at the commotion caused online, and stated that because the economy looked pretty bad this year, they hope to help him increase his sales. In fact, requests to buy the bak kwa came from people staying outside Johor as well, and they had to regretfully reject because they don’t courier the meat between states.

We were pretty disappointed, especially when we realize that the trend of finding babes and hunks whose full time jobs are selling food turned into hunks and babes masquerading as food sellers. Anyway, we still love our Taiwan MacDonald’s goddess.
