The underrated shopping mall in JB: AEON Bukit Indah

Personally, I’ve only been to Bukit Indah’s AEON shopping centre and have always wanted to go back there but never found the time to. My first time at the mall was a pleasant experience albeit a short one. I only managed to cover the first floor of the mall (how unfortunate) due to time constraints but if you people have the time to visit, then spend a whole day there! Here are reasons why you should visit AEON!

Faster
Best way of getting there is through Tuas Checkpoint (about 30 minutes drive) compared to through Woodlands Checkpoint (about 46 minutes drive). We all know that accessing JB through 2nd link expressway is much much faster because there are lesser cars going in and out there. So if you don’t want to get stuck in horrible jams just to get to Komtar, go to AEON instead!

Padini Concept Store & Brands Outlet
The first store I entered during my visit to the mall. Bought some shirts and jeans because they were affordable. But what’s the difference between this outlet and the other outlets? The one in AEON Bukit Indah is more spacious and less crowded. The light shines in and won’t leave you feeling suffocated.

A&W
Ah novelty fast food to many of us Singaporeans. You don’t have to travel so far up Malaysia or even Batam just to get a taste of that rootbeer float and fried chicken.

What’s the big deal, you might ask. Well Singapore has several outlets but the one in Bukit Indah will give you a different atmosphere. Gone are the sparkly bright interior and pink neon signages like those in Singapore. The Daiso here sells things at RM5 (aka less than S$2!).

Legoland Malaysia

The mall is near to the family-oriented tourist attraction. So if you are planning a visit to Legoland, head over to AEON for lunch; away from the bustle of the theme park.

Shophouses
I never knew of the existence of these shophouses until someone in the office mentioned it. Apparently these shophouses have good food stalls and massage houses that are worth the visit. A body scrub at Huang Zu Xuan will cost you RM35 and a 90 minutes aromatherapy massage will only set you back RM105!

Well, time to visit the shopping centre this weekend then! You might just get good deals in time for CNY.
