Do you feel the same way too? Whenever I travel to JB via the Woodlands Checkpoint, I’ll have to walk past the KFC that’s located in the building between City Square Johor Bahru and the immigration building.
If you’ve tried the KFC there, chances are you, like us, would have sworn off Singapore’s KFC at that very moment. Of course, we still eat KFC in Singapore, but not as much as we used to, because we realized how bad it is compared to their Malaysian counterpart.
Here are 6 valid and honest reasons why Malaysia’s KFC is 10 times better than Singapore’s. Do you agree?
KFC Malaysia uses different chicken than KFC Singapore
We heard that the KFC in Malaysia uses chilled chickens while the KFC in Singapore uses frozen chicken. This could be due to the fact that Singapore’s KFC has to import the chickens while most of the chicken farms are in Malaysia.
KFC in Malaysia is crispy while Singapore’s is soggy
The thing that made us fall in love with KFC is their 11 herbs and spices recipe, i.e. the original chicken. Thing is, KFC Singapore’s original chicken are soggy and not crispy at all. You’d argue that KFC Singapore’s crispy chicken is crispy, which we agree, but it’s not exactly 11 spices and herbs recipe now, is it?
KFC Malaysia Chicken Rice vs KFC Singapore Chicken Rice
In Singapore, the chicken rice bucket comes with popcorn chicken and three different kind of sauces. In Malaysia, the chicken rice comes together with one piece of KFC original drumstick. Mmm, yum!
KFC Malaysia has wedges while Singapore’s doesn’t have
If you’re a lover of wedges like us, then KFC Malaysia definitely win just based on this alone.
KFC Malaysia has Teh Tarik
Okay, now we’re nitpicking, but hey, it’s Teh Tarik! Who doesn’t love a good cup of Teh Tarik anyway?
The price of KFC Malaysia is so much cheaper
Okay, this is the most important point, and it’s more for Singaporeans or Malaysians working in Singapore, but the price of KFC in Malaysia is so much cheaper than that in Singapore due to the exchange rate of both currencies. This makes KFC Malaysia better than Singapore: you pay lesser to get better food. Do you agree?
